Virtual Realities: Making the Humanities in a Digital World

Digital technology is changing everything in our lives, including the ways in which we study, learn, teach, and create knowledge in the university. While these changes have been slower to come in the humanities, they are now well established and accelerating, with significant implications for teaching and research. Join Dr. William "Bro" Adams, former head of the National Endowment for the Humanities, for this lecture on navigating the humanities in the digital age. Reception with a hosted bar to immediately follow.

IDAH is pleased to announce two public events as part of Dr. Adams' visit to the Indiana University campus

These events are particularly timely in light of President Trump's recent release of his Presidential Budget Request for FY 2019, in which he calls for the complete elimination of not only the National Endowment for the Humanities, but also the National Endowment for the Arts, the Department of Education's International Education Programs, the National Historic Publications and Records Commission, and the Institute for Museums and Library Services. Help us #SaveTheNEH by attending the events below and engaging in a scholarly conversation about the past, present, and future of the humanities at a point in time where it matters more than ever.
